Syrcas Byd Bychan is Small World Theatre’s aerial school offering classes for children and adults in West Wales. Originally a long-held dream to rig the beautiful theatre space, the organisation is now celebrating its first year of activity and a thriving reality!
Syrcas Byd Bychan was established through the hard work and commitment of Déa Neile-Hopton as well as fund-raising and support from the local community. Today our teaching staff includes Dr Jess Allen and Hannah Darby who both have flourishing careers as performers and respected tutors.
We provide seven classes a week during school term, as well as training space for professional aerialists. Students learn core technique in trapeze, rope (corde lisse), silks and loop/ sling, as well as movement skills, conditioning and creative practice. We offer AeroZen Yoga Classes with future plans to develop inclusive aerial classes for adults and children with disabilities, alongside creative workshops and other opportunities.
We look forward to sharing news and information here as the programme continues to develop, including any future student performances or other public events.
