Join us for an evening of readings and short performances, culminating in the launch of Chris Kinsey’s new poetry collection, ‘From Rowan Ridge’ (Fair Acre Press). Chris and Kaite will present excerpts from their publications – acclaimed plays, dramatic monologues and prize-winning poetry in a celebration of the written and spoken word.
Chris Kinsey’s work is inspired by the Mid-Wales borderland’s landscape, wildlife and people. She has won Natur Cymru’s Inspired by Nature competition and has been BBC Wildlife Poet of the Year. From Rowan Ridge, her fifth poetry collection, is commissioned and published by Fair Acre Press, 2019. She has extensive experience of teaching and was Oriel Davies’ Writer in Residence.
Kaite O’Reilly is a multi-award-winning writer and playwright. Prizes include The Ted Hughes Award for new works in poetry for ‘Persians’ (National Theatre Wales), best play of the year from Theatre-Wales, Manchester theatre awards and Peggy Ramsay Award. She is currently shortlisted for the international James Tait Black Prize for Drama. Her plays are published by Faber and Oberon and translated/produced in thirteen countries worldwide.
