We have always known that our lovely venue is a perfect shape to be rigged for flying (aerial physical theatre). It is time that people of all ages and abilities can benefit from liberating training in trapeze, corde lisse and silks. We will be collaborating with Nofitstate circus who can provide teacher training, occasional visiting teachers and advice.
Small World is applying for funds to rig the space but to make this happen we also need to buy specialist equipment such as mats, harnesses, ropes, yoga slings and silks.
Please help by donating to ‘Fundraising for Flying’ below. Make sure you check out the fun fundraising events organised by the community who are interested in taking flight.
Local families living near Cardigan, plus their friends, are so excited by this idea, that they have risen to the challenge and launched their own fundraising campaign.
Please support their latest fundraising event through Just Giving as they cartwheel across the Preseli Hills from Foel Drygarn to Carn Menyn on 26 October. Every penny counts as they head towards their target of £3000. There’s more information on Small World Theatre’s website under Fundraising for Flying.
On November 25th the same group of families are organising Music for Flying at Small World Theatre. We welcome The Hatstand Collective, Jimmy Laser and the Vaporising Frogs & Theo Burn to the stage. These brilliant musicians are all local, young people who compose and play their own music. They also have a shared passion for circus. There will also be free Circus Skills training by Déa Neile-Hopton.
