A creative day on the trapeze exploring the connection between the floor and the air. We will be exploring dance trapeze and partner work (you don’t need to bring your own partner!)

This class requires a working knowledge of Aerial and experience is necessary.

Dance warm up, when you will spend the morning working on individual movement and choreography that can be taken up into the air.

Hannah and Emily have been working together since 2010 when they clocked each other through their love for moving with a stylistic quality both In the air and on the ground. They find joy in playing games on the trapeze and creating new movements through choreographic inspiration. Their work has taken them from doubles acts at festivals to creating bespoke performance for site specific shows. Their most recent collaboration lead them to creating a company “Airtime” and producing a 40min show on the back of a flatbed truck with a manipulator arm along with 3 other circus performers.
Emily and Hannah have a vast repertoire of routines and skills acquired from teaching, so are very excited to be bringing this workshop to Syrcas Byd Bychan!

Emily studied contemporary circus and physical theatre at Circomedia in Bristol and with a continued love for clown and intricate’s of stage presence studied at Ecole Philippe Gaulier. She went on to become an aerialst for Arcadia where she has spent the last 10 years spinning around the world in and out of high profile festivals! She works for Bristol based company The Invisible Circus as a physical performer typecast “Granny”! As well as perfoming she is costume mistress for Nofitstate, and an independent artist who stays true to her beliefs working for inspirational companies!

Hannah started performing from a young age, training as a dancer in Cardiff which lead her into circus she began her training 15 years ago at Nofitstate in Cardiff and then went on to study at Circomedia. Since graduating she has performed around the globe on her beloved trapeze! For the last 4 years she has worked closely with Citrus Arts as an associate artist performing, touring, teaching and directing. Hannah started working at Small world last April after searching for circus in West Wales and is so happy to have found Syrcas Byd Bychan.
