Salary £25,000 PR  (based on a 35 hour week)
Hours 28 hours, Tuesday to Friday

Small World Theatre (SWT) is a performing theatre company and community arts organisation based in a near zero-carbon accessible building in Cardigan, West Wales. SWT has extensive experience producing and performing large-scale puppet theatre and in delivering innovative educational and community arts projects. Current core projects include Syrcas Byd Bychan (SBB) (aerial circus training) and Amethyst (young people and mental health). Small World Theatre is a company limited by guarantee and a Registered Charity.

We are really excited to be bringing someone new into our small creative team who has drive and a passion to develop new opportunities to take the organisation’s dynamic plans forward.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Manage the operations of the organisation and report to the Board of Trustees.
  • Coordinate regularly with the core staff team to ensure smooth communication and running of operations, including managing delivery of the venue’s activities and programme of events.
  • Implement strategic development plans as agreed with trustees and senior staff
  • Identify funding sources and lead on a collaborative process of compiling funding bids. Build and maintain strong relationships with funders.
  • Seek development opportunities for the venue, ensure the building is maintained and all statutory obligations are observed and kept up to date and compliant.
  • Manage the freelance artists working on projects (alongside senior staff) as well as the admin and maintenance staff.
  • Review and streamline internal organisational systems and processes.

  • IT proficiency.
  • Interest in the theatre and the arts.

Desirable skills

  • Fluency in Welsh both written and spoken.
  • Evidence of working strategically to develop and grow organisations.
  • Experience of writing successful funding applications.
