Immediate support for parents and guardians of young people struggling with their mental health. The Amethyst project has funding to support a new group of parents/ guardians with special sessions and topics covering self harm and substance abuse. We are also starting to plan a piece of legislative theatre around the experiences of parents/ guardians in this group.

Parent Support Group

Invited Speakers

Amethyst works with a group of Parents and Guardians of young people who are struggling with their mental health. The group meets regularly online on Tuesdays 13:00 – 14:30. New parents are always welcome and we can arrange a one-to-one Zoom before the regular session to explain how we work. This autumn we have 3 dates with invited Speakers on specialist topics.

DDAS will be joining us to talk about substance misuse, supporting families and friends of drug and alcohol users.
16/11/21
Therapeutic Arts facilitator Josie will be giving us an overview of the nervous system and emotional regulation.
7/12/21
Amber Project will be joining us to talk about supporting young people who self-harm. TBC
