Amethyst extends creative Support Programmes to Young Carers in West Wales.

Thanks to Carers Support Innovation Fund, Small World Theatre launches supportive, exciting opportunities for young carers in Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire.

Small World Theatre’s established Amethyst project has broadly supported young people’s mental health and well-being through theatre practice, face-to-face consultation, peer support training in schools as well as adapting to deliver support online throughout the pandemic.

This year the project launched Parent/Guardian Support Programmes for parents/guardians whose young people were recently affected by mental health problems. Small World Theatre is delighted to extend its support with a new programme to help young people with caring responsibilities.

Joining Amethyst are Small World Theatre’s aerial school trainers to add aerial circus and aerial yoga sessions to the Young Carers’ Support Programme. Young carers working with aerial circus will benefit from exciting, fun experiences that build confidence and fitness levels.

The groups will be small and free of charge. Young Carers’ Support sessions will take place in Studio 17, Whitland and Small World Theatre, Cardigan beginning 22/5/22. Please contact Deri if you’d like to know more about either of the support programme, deri@smallworld.org.uk.
