
These gentle hatha yoga classes are suitable for all ages and abilities, especially those wanting to improve flexibility and mobility gently. They aim to help you recover strength and stamina, and improve balance, co-ordination and confidence. The emphasis is on correct alignment and posture which can help relieve low back and joint pain, and so is suitable even for those with arthritis. The classes also teach breathing and relaxation techniques to help you enjoy the stress-relieving benefits of a calmer, positive yogic outlook on life.

Tutor: Lesley Dever is a qualified British Wheel of Yoga teacher, with almost 30 years teaching experience. She has also worked in the traditions of B.K.S. Iyengar, and T.K.V. Desikachar (aYs, formerly viniyoga). She emphasises co-ordination of movement with yoga breathing, precision of movement practised with awareness, so as to develop mindfulness and avoid possible injury. Above all she encourages students to progress at the pace which is right for them as individuals. She has also carried out specialist training in Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs.
