This is Welsh Charities Week!

15-19 November and we start by saying a massive THANK YOU to our friends, volunteers, funders, freelancers and artists. We couldn’t do what we do without you.

The aim of the week is to celebrate and shine a light on the amazing work of charities, voluntary organisations, community groups and volunteers across Wales, organised by WCVA and supported by ITV Wales. Remember to use #WelshCharitiesWeek in your post on social media so your experience is picked up.

This year has seen some changes to the way we work. As a theatre company, we’ve adapted to stay connected and work with communities across Wales. To celebrate the first Welsh Charities Week, we’ve put together some highlights that include digital entertainment, giant creatures, fun activities and two Welsh castles. We would love you to mention your experiences of Small World Theatre in a post on Twitter, FaceBook or Instagram and tag us or share this page.

We pulled off live-streamed events with interactive digital puppets to lift spirits through dark times and entertain our audiences. We created sculptures for a new Art Trail in Colwyn Bay, North Wales. We launched new AMETHYST lockdown films so we could remotely work in schools through the pandemic supporting young people’s mental health. We took part in Welsh Government’s Summer of Fun activities working with Ceredigion County Council to bring play, circus and creative workshops to local children. We’ve taken part in Circus Village and continue to deliver safe, inclusive training for aerial circus students. We staged an outdoor spooky Halloween experience performing to thousands in the grounds of Cardigan Castle #cardispooktakula. We joined Abergele’s Art Trail promoting ecology and sustainability around the #ImACeleb buzz in Gwrych Castle. We started our first LocalGiving fundraising appeal, raising £1,990 towards future projects.

Small World Theatre’s team sends their appreciation and thanks to you all.
