Art Afoot / Celf ar Droed magnificent Lantern Parade!

Art Afoot / Celf ar Droed lantern parade celebrate the beginning of the new sculpture trails linking Fishguard and Goodwick, commissioned by Pembrokeshire County Council through UK Government funding. The parade dovetails with On Land's Edge Festival’s opening night on Friday 20th September. Join us on The Parrog, Goodwick from 6.30pm.
Fishguard's mayor Cllr Billy Shaw and the Mayor’s Consort Cllr Janet Wyer, will be in attendance. Goodwick Brass Band will performance an outdoor concert. There will be several beautiful giant lanterns made by pupils of Ysgol Bro Gwaun, a smack of jelly fish and pyramid lanterns to lead spectators from The Parrog into Fishguard Town Square.
Running Order:
6pm - 6.30 pm - Public lanterns, Ysgol Bro Gwaun, The Point, Ysgol Wdig gather and their lantern are lit - The Parrog - in front of Ocean Lab.
6.30pm - Goodwick Brass Band and welcome speeches.
7pm - Parade leaves The Parrog for the Golden Mile. Picking up lanterns at Holy Name - including Holy Name Catholic School and F.A.D.D.S.
7.20pm - Ysgol Glannau Gwaun pupils leave Penslade to join others at Golden Mile.
7.35pm - 7.40pm - Lantern Parade enters the Square.
7.40pm - Fire jugglers and Joon Dance taster performance on the Square.
7.50pm - Joon Dance leave for Theatr Gwaun to begin their performance at the start of On Land's Edge Festival. Public may leave with Joon to take up teir seat in Theatr Gwaun. Lanterns and public disperse at 8pm.
