Music as a means of improving wellbeing in young people
This project begins in April 2025, funded by Anthem Music Fund Wales through its Atsain fund.
This is backed by investment from Youth Music, thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
Amethyst Tonau is a pilot music project in West Wales using music as a means of improving wellbeing in young people aged 14+ from our rurally isolated and economically disadvantaged area.
There are two strands to the project, Tonau Trydan aims to provide DJ lessons (vinyl, cdjs, ableton) for female, trans and non-binary young people who are under-represented in the industry. Tonau Byw will create space for young people who are interested in live music to work in groups creating original pieces alongside local musicians.
