GLOW queer film night

BOOK a ticket to our next event! Our next event is for LGBTQIA+ young people aged 13+. It’s free and online.

This event is supported by the Iris Prize LGBTQ+ Film Festival - a film and media organisation committed to increasing audiences for LGBTQ+ stories. We will be screening three AMAZING short films with queer themes. You voted for your favourite films and we are delighted to announce these - Stone, The Talent and Requiem. The audience will be connected in a virtual room for conversations around the themes in the films hosted by Faye Brightman Drama. All films are suitable for ages 13+.

Welcome and intro

🎦 Stone (15-mins) - Tess is blindsided by the revelation that her father was a transgender woman upon his death and turns to her mother for answers.

🎦 The Talent (15-mins) - a lyrical meditation on masculinity, desire and becoming.

Short comfort break.

🎦 Requiem (25-mins) - set in 1605 against the backdrop of the witch trials, Requiem is a coming of age story.

Stone

When Tess learns of her estranged father’s death, she travels to the funeral hoping for nothing more than some closure and the chance to meet the woman who stole him from her. Immediately blindsided by the revelation that her father was a transgender woman, Tess starts to wonder what else has been kept from her, turning to her mother for answers.

On the set of a luxury car commercial, an overlooked assistant seizes his chance to get noticed by the star. Filmed entirely on and around a Virtual Production Stage, THE TALENT is a lyrical meditation on masculinity, desire and becoming.

Requiem

DIR Emma Jane Gilbertson, Evelyn – Bella Ramsey, Minster Gilbert – Simon Balcon, Mary – Safia Oakley-Green.

Requiem is set in 1605, against the backdrop of the witch trials. It's a coming of age story, following Evelyn as she engages in a game of cat and mouse against her father, Minister Gilbert, in order to be with Mary, the woman she loves.
