24/3/24
Performance and a short parade - 4pm
Jamming session - 5pm - 8pm
Food, drinks and mingling in between.
Join the Butetown Carnival in a joyful performance in Small World Theatre, and later for a lively jamming session. Supported by the Arts Council of Wales and the Welsh Government's Anti Racist Wales Action Plan, this touring reimagined winter showcase includes a vibrant fusion of a traditional Welsh Mari Lwyd with a jazzy Brazilian twist.
Experience the magic of Carnival in an event that transcends cultural boundaries. There'll be a dynamic dance performance at Small World Theatre at 4pm with up to 20 performers (including dancers, drummers and musicians) inspired by African-Caribbean masked pantomime.
Enjoy a well stocked bar and delicious Moroccan street food cooked by Zahia from 4pm. The artists will then perform in a lively jam session joined by inspirational artist Molara who will lead the singing from 5pm.
This uplifting cross-cultural event is free and welcoming, but if you want food you will have to let us know you are coming and turn up! Please email Molara to let her know about food and if you have any questions
